Lawn Treatment Annual Treatment Programme
Lawn Treatment: Spring
Application of a granular or liquid fertilizer to green up grass and promote healthy strong growth after the winter months. A selective herbicide is also applied.
Lawn Treatment: Early Summer
We apply a second application of slow release fertilizer to retain nutrients.
A repeat treatment of a selective herbicide is again applied to keep on top of weed growth.
Lawn Treatment: Late Summer
A nitrogen compound lawn feed is applied for a richer green lawn.
A specific herbicide is applied to combat more hardy weed varieties.
Lawn Treatment: Autumn/Winter
An iron rich conditioner treatment with a moss control is now applied to reduce moss reproduction and limit thatch growth.
Aeration: We offer both solid and hollow tine aeration. This is a process that we suggest is carried at least once a year according to soil type. This is of great benefit in putting air back into the soil, alleviating soil compaction and stimulating root growth.
Scarification: This process is essential to remove excess thatch build up, moss and help reduce disease. This service is not always necessary every year and may vary according to soil type. Two or less centimeters of thatch is beneficial in retaining moisture through the hotter months but to much can restrict oxygen and water penetration and cause disease .It is important to do this at the correct time and to know how much thatch to remove.
Disease.: we are able to treat for a variety of lawn diseases including Red thread, Fusarium patch and other fungal diseases. Some of these can be devastating to your lawn a once yearly application of a fungicide can be of great benefit especially in wetter regions where these diseases thrive.
Insects and Pests: Many insects and grubs can ruin a good lawn. We can provide safe effective treatments for a lot of these, Leather jackets, Chafer grubs, Worm casts ,Ants and advice on the control of other pests such as Moles .
Individual treatments: We can offer one off individual treatments for specific problems however it is much better to follow an annual lawn treatment programme for the very best results for your lawn.
Over Seeding: Beneficial to improve weak or poor grass especially after scarification.
Top Dressings: Helps fill in unevenness and bumps, stimulates new shoot and root growth, helps drainage in sandy soils and improves drainage in heavy soils especially after aeration.
Terraces and Paths: We can offer a weed killing service for all of your garden paths and terraces.
Lawn Mowing: Although we do not offer lawn mowing service ourselves we are able to provide this through professional lawn mowing contractors who we are happy to arrange on your behalf.
Our annual lawn treatment programme will help you achieve a beautiful lawn. If you are planning a special outdoor event we can help you have a lawn to be proud of and one your friends will envy!

Have you prepared your lawns for the Winter?
Don’t forget that lawns need attention too.We take time to store and wrap tender plants but this cannot be done for our lawns. It is therefore important that we do what we can to prepare them for the coming year.
Kent and Sussex Lawns recommend aerations during November and December to ensure that the ground is able to cope with whatever the Winter weather has in store.
It is also a good time to treat mossy areas to avoid it spreading through the colder months. If you are still cutting your lawns…remember to raise the height of the cut to protect the grass from frost.
Have you cleared the leaves from the lawn? This is very beneficial to the health of the grass not to mention good exercise!!
Once all these jobs are done you can settle back and wait for the warmer weather and a lovely green lawn next year.
